CHARTS: Civ VI DLC pass holds Steam top spot

The New Frontier Pass for 2K's Civilization VI is once again the best-selling item on Steam.

This grants access to six new packs of DLC that are going to be released over the coming year. The first was made available in May 2020 – launching alongside the New Frontier Pass – with the final content update coming next March. This debuted at No.1 last week.

Second place goes to Creative Assembly's Total War: Warhammer II, which is currently 66 per cent off on Steam, while the No.3 spot is awarded to strategy roguelike card game Monster Train. That title launched on May 21st and last week debuted in eighth place, rising five in the following week.

CD Projekt's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunter – Game of the Year Edition comes in at No.4 thanks to a 70 per cent price reduction. That title has sold more than 50m copies since its debut in May 2015. The game has made more than $50m in revenue on Steam since October 2018 meaning that developer and publisher CD Projekt will now be receiving 80 per cent of revenue from the title, per Valve's changed distribution agreement.

With a 50 per cent discount, No Man's Sky flies into fifth place, coming in ahead of No.6, Terraria from developer Re-Logic, dropping three places over the last week. The game has sold over 30m copies globally, as of April 2020, with PC accounting for just under half of the total number of units shifted.

Co-op shooter Deep Rock Galactic once again makes an appearance in the Top Ten, dropping from last week's sixth place to No.7. Developed by Ghost Ship Games, this title launched into Early Access in February 2018, before a 1.0 launch on May 13th. Speaking to PCGamesInsider.biz at Gamescom 2017, studio co-founder Mikkel Martin Pedersen said that the co-op shooter market was "underdeveloped."

Battle royale behemoth Playerunknown's Battlegrounds shoots its way to No.8 ahead of Rockstar's cowboy romp, Red Dead Redemption 2. The game has shipped more than 31m copies since its console debut in October 2018. The title came to most PC platforms in November 2019, before a Steam version was released the following month.

Here is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending May 30th:

1. Civilization VI – New Frontier Pass, 2K Games
2. Total War: Warhammer II, Sega
3. Monster Train, Good Shepherd
4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunter – Game of the Year Edition, CD Projekt
