Roombattle is out now!

Roombattle - the third place winner at Pocket Gamer Connects Big Indie Pitch Barcelona - is a frantic, chaotic, party game that's out now on Steam.

Roombattler is just pure fun. It's a hilarious party game where you control a cute-but-weaponised home vacuum cleaner. Weaponised how, you ask? By attachingdifferent sharp objects onto them.

Fighting in offices, houses, and even outdoor spaces - you find yourself trying to move around crowded spaces, knocking stuff over and breaking furniture all while looking to pop the balloons on the back of your friend's vacuums. There can be up to six players in Roombattle, allowing you to battle against each other in a free-for-all or in a co-op mode.

Office level in Roombattle

There are also mini-games that can be played with your vacuums; Minigames ranging from races, through color-related mini-games, to soccer. These mini-games serve to break up the fighting between intense skirmishes.

You can spend time adding on different items to top up and customise your vacuum cleaner: Different eyes and even different pointy objects. These customisations only add to the theming, it's clear that everything here has been really well thought out.

I've played Roombattler at quite a few different events in the time that it's been in development, and have always really enjoyed the sort of chaotic, couch co-op fun that its given. In fact, it's one of those rare experiences that has been equally fun with strangers and friends - I've also got no doubt that it'd be a popular one when family visit.

If you are looking to see exactly what our judges loved about Roombattle, you should check it out on Steam. If you're not entirely sold on it just yet then you'll also find a demo there which can be downloaded to get a taste of what the wider game has to offer.
