The Epic Games Store has given away over $2k in free games

The Epic Games Store has given away over $2,000 worth in free games since its inception.

As discovered by PCGamesN, including the most recent freebie – Grand Theft Auto V – Epic Games has given away $2,140.94 worth of games since December 2018. So far, the American firm has made 108 games free on its storefront.

It's current giveaway usually sells for $29.99, and was the best-selling game of the last decade in the UK and the US.

Earlier this month, the Epic Games Store started to accept five new currencies from Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Canada. In March, the Fortnite creator added wishlists to its storefront.

At launch, the virtual store was missing a few features, several of which have been added over the past 18 months. One such update, last August, included cloud saves and Humble Bundle Keyless integration. Since then, Epic Games has also integrated OpenCritic to its storefront.

In October 2019, the Epic Games Store got a redesign. Since its inception, the storefront has welcomed 108 million PC users.
