Rockstar’s law-defying title Grand Theft Auto V was the best selling game of the decade in the US.
That's according to GamesIndustry.biz, which reports that the crimp romp has - perhaps unsurprisingly - been the top-selling title in America following its September 2013 release.
Between May and November 2019 five million copies of GTA V were sold. Overall, 115 million copies have been shipped since its 2013 lunch by November 2019.
In August that year, a new casino update saw the game achieve a new record for player engagement.
Take-Two saw 28 per cent of its Q1 2019 revenue come in from Grand Theft Auto V.
Unsurprisingly, Activision secured half of the top 20 spots with its Call of Duty franchise. Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 took second and third place respectively.
According to the publisher, the newest entry in the franchise - Modern Warfare - is the most played multiplayer title for six years. On top of this, the game has also seen the biggest launch on PC for the Call of Duty franchise.
As revealed by Activision Blizzard, the release of a Call of Duty game annually is crucial to the company’s strategy as it moves forward.
