Ubisoft vet Johannes Thimme founds new studio Quality Time

Ubisoft veteran Johannes Thimme is setting up a brand new studio called Quality Time.

This new venture is working on an original game, in addition to providing consultation and mentoring services. Thimme joined Ubisoft back in 2012 as a live producer at the company's Dusseldorf studio; since he has worked on the likes of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Rainbow Six Siege and Might & Might. Before being hired by Ubisoft, he worked at Deep Silver and Mail.ru Games.

"I often hear from developers who've been in the industry for a long time that they can imagine living outside the big cities – that’s a real opportunity for the region," Thimme said.

"Compared to some other German states, the games industry in Lower Saxony isn't as well established yet. I'd be delighted if, with Quality Time Studio, I could help build up another creative hub in the region in the medium to long term – not only for experienced developers, but also for new talent."
