The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is apparently "deep" in development now.
That's according to a post on Twitter from the game's official account, in which Ubisoft said – apropos of nothing – that the title is still being made. Furthermore, the company reminded players that there is another series spinoff, The Rogue Prince of Persia, that is currently being made by Dead Cells maker Evil Empire.
"Yep, we’re still deep in the game — exploring, building, and ensuring the sands move with purpose," Ubisoft wrote.
"This game is being crafted by a team that truly cares, and they're pouring their hearts (and a lot of coffee) into every step.
"Thank you for sticking with us."
The Prince of Persia Remake was announced at E3 2020 with a January 2021 release date. The project was being handled by Ubisoft's Pune and Mumbai studios in India.
The title was then bumped a few months to March, before falling back to its 2022/23 financial year. In May 2022, Ubisoft's Montreal studio took over development shortly before the remake was once again delayed with an unspecified release date.
The game is now set to come out in 2026.
