Industry vet Mesmar joins Beyond Good and Evil 2 team

Development veteran Fawzi Mesmar has joined the Beyond Good and Evil 2 team.

He announced the move on LinkedInas spotted by GI.biz – saying he had come on board as its creative director. Mesmar joined Ubisoft back in November 2021 as VP for global creative. Prior to that he held roles at the likes of DICE and King.

"I have been working with those peeps for years now on this ambitious game and witnessed their talent firsthand," Mesmar wrote.

"I am standing on the shoulders of creative giants that have supported the team before me, and I look forward to continuing to craft a game that is truly unique for players to enjoy."

Mesmar replaces Emile Morel, who died in 2023.

This version of Beyond Good and Evil 2 was announced back in 2017; a version of the eagerly-awaited sequel began in 2008.
