Stellar Blade now Sony's biggest single-player game on Steam

The newly-released Stellar Blade is now the most successful Sony single-player title on Steam so far.

SteamDB data shows that the hack and slash has the highest concurrent player figure of any of PlayStation's non-multiplayer games on the platform at a massive 192,078 simultaneous users. Stellar Blade has beaten out other competition, including The Last of Us Part 1 at a peak of , 39,496 players, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered at 30,690 users, God of War with 83.529 users and  God of War Ragnarök with 35,615.

The record for PlayStation-launched games on Steam goes to Helldivers 2, with a massive 458,709 concurrent users, but as a multiplayer title, it's not a fair comparison.

Pre-orders for Stellar Blade were the sixth highest-grossing game on Steam last week, ahead of its release on June 11th.

The head of PlayStation Studios, Herman Hulst, said last week that the company is taking a "measured" approach to bringing its first-party line-up to PC.

Sony announced last week that it was making layoffs at its Bend Studio after the cancellation of an unannounced in-development live-service title.
