Valve has returned to its own top ten in force with the launch of its new Index VR hardware.
The successor to Valve’s HTC Vive hardware was announced last week - and while individual components are available for less, a complete kit will set you back $999. UploadVR reports that in the US, the costly bundle sold out within a mere 30 minutes of going on sale.
While the long-term viability of VR may still be up in the air, Index has proved the demand is still there.
It wasn’t quite enough to top out the Steam Top Ten, however. That honour goes to medieval multiplayer hack n’ slash Mordhau, which hit the store like a battering ram last week.
Risk of Rain 2 has been pushed down thanks to Valve’s explosive VR launch, taking No.6 this week. Sekiro falls one more spot to No.9, still stubbornly holding onto its Top Ten placement one month after launch.
Monster Hunter World, meanwhile, climbs two spots up to No.10 as Capcom’s catalogue-wide sale continues.
Slipping in quietly beneath the big players comes submarine simulator UBOAT, breaking the waves with a 15 per cent Early Access launch discount.
Falling upwards at No.10, Human: Fall Flat returns to the Top Ten. The physical platformer is currently 34 per cent off when bundled with When Ski Lifts Go Wrong.
Below is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending May 4th
