CHARTS: Rare's Sea of Thieves holds the booty on Steam

Pirate romp Sea of Thieves once again takes the top spot in the Steam charts.

Developer Rare and publisher Microsoft's title debuted at No.1 last week after the game had been exclusive to the Big M's own Windows 10 store following its March 2018 launch. According to SteamCharts, the project has had a peak concurrent player figure of 62,992 users on Sunday, June 14th.

Pre-orders for the recently-announced Destiny 2 expansion Beyond Light was the second most purchased item on Steam last week. Set to launch in September 2020, this is one of three pieces of content that the studio revealed, alongside The Witch Queen and Lightfall, which will be released in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Coffee Stain's Satisfactory also debuted at the No.3 spot on Steam last week following an exclusivity period on the Epic Games Store following its March 2019 release. Last year, one of the studio's developers Natalie Verwei said that this deal allowed the company to just focus on making a good game

Fourth place goes to cult RPG hit Persona 4 Golden, which was a surprise announcement this week. This is an updated version of 2008 PlayStation 2 release Persona 4, which was re-released as Persona 4 Golden for the PlayStation Vita handheld console in 2013.

Electronic Arts once again takes two places in the Top Ten with Command & Conquer Remastered Collection clocking in at No.5, while last year's Need for Speed Heat takes up eighth place. EA has said it will be bringing more of its PC games back to Steam after the firm took all of its titles to its own Origin platform back in 2011

Valve's Index VR headset drops three places to No.6, while PUBG Corp's battle royale title Playerunknown's Battlegrounds fell to ninth place from last week's fourth position.

The Emperor DLC for Padarox's Europa Universalis IV conquers No.7 in the Top Ten. This is the 16th expansion that the Swedish games firm has released for Europa Universalis IV, which originally debuted back in 2013.

Perfect World's Torchlight III debuted on June 13th in Early Access and sold enough in one day to land the No.10 spot in the charts.

Here is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending June 13th, 2020:

1. Sea of Thieves, Microsoft
