SAG-AFTRA calls off video games strike

The SAG-AFTRA performers union has formally called off the long-running video game actors strike.

In a post on its website, the organisation said that the strike was going to be called off as of noon Pacific Time on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025 on the directive of chief negotiator and national exec director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland.

This follows SAG-AFTRA reaching a "tentative" agreement with top games companies, including Activision, EA and Epic Games.

"All SAG-AFTRA members are instructed to return to work on productions under the IMA, including work promoting or publicising projects produced under the IMA," the organisation wrote.

"The SAG-AFTRA National Board will meet in special session tomorrow, June 12, 2025, to consider the tentative agreement. If approved, it will be sent out for ratification by the union’s membership in accordance with established policy. Details of the agreement will be released at that time."
