Molasses Flood merges with CD Projekt Red

Boston-based developer The Molasses Flood has officially merged with Polish games giant CD Projekt Red.

The news comes in a post on the former's website, saying that as of April 1st, it was no longer a separate entity and had been absorbed by the Cyberpunk 2077 firm. The Molasses Flood has pointed out that this deal will no affect the titles it made before being acquired by CD Projekt in 2021, The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow. The studio is currently working on Project Sirius, a multiplayer game set within The Witcher IP.

Alongside this news, Molasses Flood founder Damian Isla has opted to leave the studio.

"Obviously this is a big change," he wrote in a post on LinkedIn

"TMF has been a huge part of my life for the past decade plus, and I'm proud of have been a part of building something that lasted as long as TMF did, in a market environment often quite hostile to tiny teams like ours. I think we made some beautiful, memorable and quirky things, and I've also gotten to work with some of the kindest, most generous and talented people in the industry."
