CHARTS: Valve Index VR shoots into first place on Steam

Valve's Index VR headset was once again the best-selling item on Steam last week.

The hardware took the top spot having risen from the No.6 spot in the last seven days. This follows the tech being out of stock for much of the start of the year due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Index VR was back in stock on March 9th, but had sold out entirely by the following day.

Second place goes to cult favourite RPG Persona 4 Golden, which debuted on at No.4 on Steam last week. The title was a surprise release from publisher Sega and is one of many of the hit Japanese games it has brought to Valve's platform in recent years following in the footsteps of Vanquish and Bayonetta.

Rare's Sea of Thieves drops from first place to third, while Hardspace: Shipbreaker from Focus Home Interactive debuts at No.4 following its release into Early Access on June 16th.

Detroit: Become Human from French developer Quantic Dream launched on Steam last week and was the fifth best-selling title of the week. The title was initially a PlayStation 4 exclusive after its 2018 release, but came to the Epic Game Store in December last year.

Fellow former Epic Game Store title Satisfactory from Coffee Stain charted in sixth place on Steam this week, dropping three places from its debut last week. Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition claims No.7 ahead of pre-orders for the deluxe edition of upcoming Destiny 2 expansion Beyond Light, which came in eighth place.

Respawn's 2016 mech shooter Titanfall 2 makes its debut on Steam as part of a wave of EA titles coming to Valve's service. Last place goes to Annapurna's Outer Wilds
