CHARTS: Valve’s virtual reality kit secures the top spot

Valve’s Index VR hardware is at the top of the mountain in this week’s Steam chart.

The virtual reality hardware has returned to the Top Ten despite the hefty price tag that comes with it.

At No.2 is the Steam Controller, Valve’s second appearance in this week’s chart. The gamepad experienced a 90 per cent of sale, due to it being discontinued.

Xbox Game Studios widely popular Sci-Fi shooter Halo is coming to Steam with The Master Chief Collection. It will launch on the storefront on December 3rd. Last month, it was revealed that the long-awaited Halo TV series had entered production.

The publisher has a second title in this week’s Top Ten, at No.9 is Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. It was released on Steam last month.

At No.4, is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order by Electronic Arts. The publisher confirmed that the new title is its best selling Star Wars launch on PC - it is currently on sale with 10 per cent off. The ever-present battle royale Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds secured fifth place, likely due to it being on offer for 50 per cent off.

At No.6, with a 35 per cent sale is Activision’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Also experiencing a sale is Rockstar’s law-defying title Grand Theft Auto V at No.7 - it is currently half price. Between May and November 2019, the game has sold five million copies.

Capcom’s fantasy RPG Monster Hunter World has re-entered the chart in eighth place - another title on offer on the storefront. By the end of March 2019, 4.5 million units had been sold on PC.

Closing this week’s Top Ten is Football Manager 2020 - it was released on November 19th. The game’s packaging is made up of 100 per cent recyclable materials.
