Sumo Digital has brought Dean Trotman on as its new commercial director.
With over two decades of industry experience, Trotman brings his history of work as commercial director of Sega Europe and Codemasters acquisitions director to Sumo. In this latest role, Trotman will be responsible for driving Sumo’s commercial strategy across its locations in the UK and India.
“I’ve admired and respected Sumo for many years,“ said Trotman, ”so it’s an honour to become part of such a progressive, passionate, and expert development group”.
Sumo co-founder and managing director Paul Porter added: “With our increasing development capacity I’m delighted to have Dean on board. His knowledge and experience will stand us in good stead as we continue to grow the organisation.”
Trotman joins another recent addition to Sumo Digital’s director line-up - in November, Telltale veteran Richard Iggo was appointed as the company’s marketing director.
This follows the Sheffield-based studio going public at the end of 2017, valued at $194m.
2018 also saw two major acquisitions for the studio, as it came into ownership of both Dear Esther developer The Chinese Room and Eve Valkyrie makers CCP Newcastle.
