Blizzard is looking for new souls to send to hell with a potential Diablo 4 job opening

Blizzard Entertainment’s latest job opening suggests development is ramping up on a new Diablo game.

The listing is calling for a quest designer on an unannounced project, based in the company’s Irvine, California headquarters. Now, Blizzard has a number of games that could feature “quests” - but with a particular focus on gothic horror and dark fantasy know-how, it’s probably the anticipated next numbered Diablo game.

There are also a whopping 19 other Diablo jobs listed on Blizzard’s careers page, so we’ll take that bet.

Fans of the franchise are eagerly awaiting the next proper sequel to the venerable dungeon-crawler. Blizzard announced mobile title Diablo Immortal at Blizzcon this year - but everyone knows mobile games aren’t real games, and reception to the announcement was muted, to put it lightly.

But Blizzard has multiple Diablo projects in the works - sooner or later, one of these has to satisfy the lofty wishes of die-hard gamers.

Elsewhere at the Warcraft-maker, however, things are looking shaky. Blizzard was caught red-handed in offering staff at its Cork, Ireland office increasing sums of money to quit their jobs.
