Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 hits 5m sales

RPG blockbuster Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sold over five million copies.

The news comes via the game's official Twitter account, in a post which also points out that the title hit this milestone five months after its initial release. At last official count, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had sold over 3.3 million copies; that was after 33 days from its April release date.

Then last month one of its developers let slip that the game had sold over 4.4 million copies.

"In April we released Clair Obscur: Expedition 33," the studio wrote.

"Five months later, we’ve sold five million copies worldwide!

"Since then, your artwork, your stories, your cosplays and your endless creativity has been loved and appreciated by all of us.

"And for that, we cannot thank you enough."

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched on April 24th on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. The title was made with a small core team of Ubisoft veterans based in France, but also featured work from contractors around the world.
