French developer Sandfall Interactive's next project could be a very different beast to this year's smash hit Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Speaking to the Washington Post, creative director Guillaume Broche said that studio felt under no obligation to stick with the same formula that proved so successful with its debut RPG.
“We don’t want to be constrained by story, art style or gameplay in whatever we want to make next, so nothing to say,” Broche said.
“We just want it to feel authentic and made with love.”
Broche also discussed the upcoming DLC that is pencilled in for Clair Obscur, though tried to manage expectations as to what fans could expect.
“It’s not exactly a full-blown downloadable content expansion thing, but it’s what we call a ‘thank you’ update,” Broche said.
“We have received so much love from our community and players, we just want to thank you for joining us.”
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched in April and has sold over five million copies to date.
