Scottish developer NoCode has changed its name to Screen Burn.
In a post on its website, the studio said that this is, in part, due to the fact that its original branding is not reflective of who it is today. NoCode was founded back in 2015 with a philosophy of making games, you guessed it, without a coder, and has worked on projects such as Stories Untold and Observation. More recently, the studio was drafted by Konami to make the upcoming Silent Hill: Townfall.
"Now we have lots of coders, who are vital members of the team. Amongst a million other reasons, the name doesn’t work anymore," the studio wrote.
"We were 'No Code' before it became a generic term for app development and training courses. Our inbox is a mess.
"So we asked: 'If we’re not that anymore, what are we? What have we always been?'. The answer is obvious. We’re analogue TV’s. 3.5” disk drives. Nostalgic and imperfect. We make games that stick with you, long after the credits roll. Games that persist. Like an old arcade machine, with the UI burned into the display forever."
