Report: Film adaptation of Split Fiction in the works

There is apparently a film adaptation of the recently-released Split Fiction in development.

That's according to Variety, which reports that Story Kitchen is in charge of putting together a cast, writers and director. That outfit previously worked on an adaptation of Hazelight's previous title It Takes Two, which is being handled by Amazon, as well as version of Toejam and Earl, Slim Rancher and Vampire Survivors.

Offers are apparently coming left and right from "multiple top Hollywood studios".

Split Fiction launched earlier in March; the game sold one million copies within its first 48 hours before going on to shift two million after its first week.

"Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing," Hazelight wrote on Bluesky, following that second milestone.

"Thank you to all of our new and old fans - we love how excited you are for our game."

The film adaptation of It Takes Two has Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson attached, while Sonic the Hedgehog scribes Pat Casey and Josh Miller are handling writing duties.
