PlayStation has formed a brand new developer that is being headed up by former Call of Duty dev Jason Blundell.
The development vet confirmed the news in an interview with Jeff Gerstmann, in which he revealed that his new venture – Dark Outlaw – had been "working away in the shadows" on an as-yet unannounced project.
There's little info on what the company is working on at the moment but Blundell says that the studio is still staffing up.
"It's such a privilege to be able to do it with Sony as a new first-party studio," Blundell said.
"Sony doesn't set up first-party studios all the time. To have that privilege is humbling, it's really nice. I'm really excited."
Blundell is best known for his work at Call of Duty developer Treyarch where he is credited with being a driving force behind the shooter's iconic Zombies mode. He left the Activision-owned studio in 2020 and set up Deviation Games the same yet.
That developer was working on a new triple-A IP for PlayStation; however Blundell left the studio in 2022 before the firm itself was closed down two years later.
