Hitman World of Assassination hits 75m players

World of Assassination – the hub for content for the recent Hitman trilogy – has attracted over 75 million players to date.

That's according to developer and publisher IO Interactive, which revealed that the game boasted one million active users during December 2024.

World of Assassination initially launched as Hitman 3 back in 2021. Afterwards, it was rebranded to include content from both the 2016 Hitman reboot and its 2017 sequel.

"Hitman World of Assassination remains as popular as ever thanks to its constant additions and a dedicated community," IO wrote.

"With more content planned to come to Hitman World of Assassination in 2025, players can continue to look forward to more and more hours of Hitman to enjoy."

IO recently introduced a mission to World of Assassination that would see players taking down 80s and 90s action star Jean-Claude Van Damme. 40 per cent of those who have tried to kill the movie star have succeeded.
