The latest entry in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto franchise won't be released for another few years.
That's according to Battlefield and COD leaker Tom Henderson, who posted a video to YouTube outlining some details that he had heard about. These have been corroborated by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier and include the fact that the game reportedly has a modern setting – including Miami stand-in Vice City – with a world that is intended to evolve over time in the same way that Fortnite does.
There are also reports that the title will feature numerous protagonists, including a woman hacker.
Henderson reckons that the game won't be coming out until 2024 or 2025. Right now, the game is still in early development.
This comes in the wake of Rockstar reportedly changing its working culture so that crunch was less of a feature of game development.
Rockstar's former head writer Dan Houser left the firm in February 2020 and has recently set up a brand new company in the UK called Absurd Ventures in Games. There's little indication what this outfit actually will be doing as of yet.
