Teenager charged allegedly over GTA 6 hack

City of London Police has charged a 17-year-old who was allegedly behind the Grand Theft Auto 6 hack.

The law enforcement agency has taken to Twitter to say that a teenager had been charged with two counts of both breach of bail and computer misuse offences following his arrest in Oxfordshire on September 22nd. He appeared in court on Saturday, September 24th.

Also on Twitter, The Desk journalist Matthew Keys said that a source had told him this is the person behind the hack on Rockstar, resulting in the leaking of in-development Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay footage. It's also alleged that he is connected with the Lapsus$ group, which has hacked other tech giants, including Uber, Microsoft and Nvidia.

A post by Uber said that the FBI was involved in the investigation of its own hack.
