The Sinking City returns to stores thanks to French court ruling

Horror title The Sinking City has been put back on sale off the back of a court ruling by the Paris Court of Appeal.

In a release, publisher Nacon said that the game is returning to stores thanks to a decision issued by the French court on October 28th, 2020. The ruling said that developer Frogwares had acted in a "manifestly unlawful" manner in terminating its contract with Nacon.

This follows the Ukrainian studio pulling The Sinking City from storefronts, saying that Nacon had breached its licensing agreement for publishing the title. Frogwares claimed that the publisher – formerly known as Big Ben – owed it €1 million in royalties from the title. Nacon disputed these allegations at the time.

The Sinking City has been returned to sale on Xbox One as of yesterday (Tuesday, January 5th), with the title set to make a reappearance on both Steam and the PS4 storefront at some point in the future.
