Fantasy RPG Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has shipped five million copies worldwide.
The DLC has hit the milestone six months after it was released for consoles and two months after it came to PC.
"Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (MHW:I) is a massive premium expansion for MH:W. The game features a full narrative experience that continues the story from MH:W, as well as a vast new area, new monsters, a new difficulty level and a new player mechanic," said Capcom.
"MHW:I achieved 5 million units shipped following steady sales growth backed by global critical acclaim, such as highly-positive review scores following the game's release in September 2019."
The expansive DLC flew straight to the top of the Steam charts upon release. A position it held for two consecutive weeks. Iceborne also featured on Metacritic's highest-reviewed games of 2019.
Overall, the Monster Hunter franchise has shipped 62 million copies around the world. Furthermore, Monster Hunter: World has been sold 15 million times as of January 2020. An increase of two million from the 13 million it shifted by July 2019.
By March 2019, 4.5 million copies of the monster-slaying game were sold on PC. The platform has proven popular for Capcom's title, and it is the second-largest used by Monster Hunter: World players.
