Sumo Digital is teaming up with 2K for new projects

Work-for-hire guru Sumo Digital has teamed up with publisher 2K Games for new projects.

The development company whose recent projects have included Hitman 2, Crackdown 3, Mortal Kombat 11 and Team Sonic Racing; is yet to reveal details about this new partnership and the projects that it will result in.

It was confirmed that development will take place at Sumo Digital's studio headquarters in Sheffield and by the recently-acquired Red Kite Games in West Yorkshire whose work includes Dirt 4 and God of War 3 Remastered.

"We're delighted to be working with 2K and look forward to disclosing details of the projects in due course," said Sumo Digital MD Gary Gunn.

Sumo Digital recently snapped up Red Kite Games in February 2019 for £2m ($2.5m). This follows other purchases made by the company, it purchased CCP’s Newcastle studio and Brighton-based developer The Chinese Room.

Sumo Digital and Red Kite Games are currently hiring. Jobs are available across the developer's various studios in both the UK and India, positions open include art, audio, code, design, IT, marketing and production. Sumo Digital did its initial public offering in December 2017, since then the firms headcount has grown substantially. It is looking to increase its headcount by a further 15 per cent in the next year.
