PC Connects Seattle 2019 - Meet the Speakers - Erik Desiderio

Ahead of PC Connects Seattle 2019 on May 13th and 14th, we are catching up with some of the big names that we have on-stage at the show.

Today Erik Desiderio from the appropriately-named Erik Desiderio Music shares his thoughts on the trends defining the industry.

Tell us a bit about the company.

We create high quality original audio assets for games, including music and sound effects. Composing music or creating custom sound effects for games.

What does your role entail?

Working with the game designers to create the optimal audio experience!

Why did you want to work in the games industry?

It's the most creative and fun industry to work in.

What advice would you give to anyone looking to get into it?

Be prepared to work very hard and stick with it. Some of the most interesting projects have been released in the last 12 months.

What are your thoughts on the industry in the last 12 months?

Mobile devices have gotten more powerful, and experiences are better than ever.

What major trends do you predict in the next 12 months?

More location-based AR experiences, VR without cables will become commonplace.

How has the games industry changed since you first started?

Gaming platforms have gotten more diverse.

Which part of the Connects event are you most looking forward to and why?

The networking!
