Steam’s annual wallet-emptying summer sale is starting up again tomorrow.
The Steam store tends to update at 18:00 BST, so expect the festivities to kick off around that time tomorrow evening.
Many of Valve’s recent sales have seen the company experimenting with new systems, usually tying into the trading card system. This year, twitter account Steam Database leaked the existence of “Mysterious Cards” in preparation for this year’s sale.
These may also tie in to last month’s Spring Cleaning event. Completing challenges throughout May netted players “Mystery Items” that had no immediate purpose, but “might be useful in a future sale.” We’ll find out what’s going on behind these mysteries tomorrow.
Steam recently partnered with Perfect World to begin selling games in China, hopefully settling the platform’s grey-area within the region. The distributor also recently implemented publisher homepages, making it easier to track down games by particular creators.
