Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds has sold 10m units

Early Access battle royale smash hit Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is seemingly unstoppable, with developer Brendan Greene announcing a new sales milestone.

The game maker revealed on Twitter (below) that the project has now smashed ten million units.

That the title is this successful is unsurprising, but the rate at which it has grown its fanbase is phenomenal.

For context: Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds sold 4m units in the three months between its March 23rd release date and E3 2017. It then sold another 4m units between E3 2017 and Gamescom, just a two-month period, and now it has sold another two million units in two weeks.

And if that wasn’t enough, the battle royale romp is closing in on Steam top dog DOTA 2 to claim a new peak concurrent player record.
