Ahead of his appearance at Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki, the chief at Dead Cells maker Motion Twin
Sébastien Bénard tells us what we can expect
Tell us a bit about who you are and what you do.
I'm a game developer & game designer at Motion Twin. I've been making games for 17 years now, but I've been always coding since, like, I was 7-8yrs old.
What is your talk going to be about?
I will focus on explaining how important small details are, when you try to make a fun game.
What is the most exciting trend in the PC games space at the moment?
I'm not much into trends & stuff. For me, games are good when you can actually play them, and they do play well. Being disappointed by over-hyped games for years made me very demanding for actual qualities. I don't believe in indiepocalypse or whatevepocalyse things.
What is your favourite PC game of 2018 to date?
Subnautica, but it was already a good game during Early Access before
Tickets for Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki - which includes access to the PC-centric ConnectsX and Blockchain Gamer Connects - are still up for grabs and can be bought here
