Sniper Elite maker Rebellion has announced it is acquiring Yorkshire-based TickTock Games.

The two worked together recently on the Nintendo Switch ports of both Battlezone and Rogue Trooper Redux. TickTock will be rebranded Rebellion North.No figure has been put on the deal. 

This is the latest purchase made by the games and entertainment company. This time last year, the firm snapped up Radiant Worlds, rebranding it to Rebellion Warwick. And at the end of 2018, the company announced it was purchasing a new space in Oxford to help realise its film and TV ambitions which is worth $100m - though it's unclear how much Rebellion paid for it.

"Bringing more great people to the company is a great way to start 2019," said Rebellion chief and co-founder Jason Kingsley OBE (pictured).

"The company continues to grow and it's important we bring in the right people as part of that process. We've worked with the team at TickTock Games for a while now, and we know they'll continue to prosper as Rebellion North."

We caught up with Kingsley recently to discuss Rebellion's plans for expansion, including the company making better use of the 2000AD IP, both in video games and beyond.
