Sumo Group's founders are leaving the company

The founders of UK developer Sumo Group are departing the company after 22 years.

In a release to investors, the firm announced that CEO Carl Cavers, COO Paul Porter and director of excellent and integration Darren Mills are leaving the studio. The chief exec position will now be shared between CFO Andy Stewart and newly-promoted chief operating officer Gary Dunn.

Meanwhile general counsel and head of legal and business affairs Tim Repa-Davies has been promoted to the board.

“Stepping away from something we’ve built over two decades is never easy, but it’s the right time,” Cavers said.

“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together, and we’re confident that Sumo is in a strong position to continue evolving and thriving.”

Stewart added: “This is a natural evolution for Sumo. We’re staying true to who we are, building on a strong foundation, and looking ahead with clarity and purpose. We’re excited about what’s next.”
