Palworld hits 19m players

Pocket monster smash hit Palworld has been played by over 19 million players.

That's according to the game's official Twitter account, which has announced that it has sold 12 million copies on Steam and played by seven million people on Xbox.

Xbox Wire also reports that Palworld is the biggest third-party launch ever on the Game Pass subscription service.

“The response from fans has been tremendous and it’s incredible to see the millions of players around the world enjoying Palworld," the CEO of developer Pocketpair Takuro Mizobe said.

"This is just the beginning for us and Palworld, and the feedback we’re gathering while in Game Preview will allow us to continue to improve the experience for Pal Tamers across all platforms.”

Palworld launched into Steam Early Access on January 19th and shifted five million copies in its first three days.

Though the game has achieved critical and commercial success, it has also attracted the threat of legal trouble; The Pokémon Company is investigating similarities between Palworld and its own Pokémon franchise.
