Virtuos opens Montpellier office

Game development services outfit Virtuos has opened a brand new outpost in Montpellier, France.

The originally-named Virtuos Labs – Montpellier is going to be focused on expanding the company's engineering and R&D capabilities. The studio is being headed up by senior technical director Alexis Vaisse, who has previously worked at Ubisoft – including the firm's Montpellier studio – as well as founding two companies, Tiwak and Wysilab.

The current leadership also includes fellow Ubisoft veterans, software engineer Benjamin Courtain and producer Marianne Calva.

“We are excited to launch Virtuos Labs - Montpellier," Virtuos' MD of its Western region Christophe Gandon said.

"Through Virtuos Labs and the leadership of our senior technical directors, we look forward to strengthening our game engineering mandate to deliver the best solutions for our partners worldwide.”

This follows Virtuos opening a studio in Lyon in October 2021.
