Virtuos opens new Prague studio

Co-development giant Virtuos has opened a brand new studio in Prague, Czechia.

The office is imaginatively named Virtuos Labs - Prague and will be focused on networking, UI, mobile and optimisation. The venture is being headed up by general manager Jan Herodes, an industry veteran with 20 years of experience. During his career, he has worked at Disney Interactive Studios, Bohemia Interactive, Keen Software and Grip Digital. Herodes is joined by studio technical director Otakar Nieder, a fellow veteran of Bohemia Interactive.

By the end of the year, Virtuos Labs Prague aims to hire 20 people.

This is the fourth Virtuos Labs studio the company has set up after establishing such outposts in Lyon, Montpellier and Warsaw.

Jan said, “Czechia is a rising global game development hub and Prague is at the centre of its growth. This is supported by a rapidly growing talent pool, thanks to game development-focused programs at local universities. I am certain that Virtuos Labs - Prague can benefit from and contribute to the young and capable talent pool, and provide outstanding technical services to our valued clients.”
