Paradox announces new Arc indie publishing label

Swedish publisher Paradox Interactive has revealed its brand new indie publishing label, Paradox Arc.

The venture was unveiled in a post on Twitter earlier this week, in which the company said that it wanted to focus on publishing "deep, endless, and replayable games" from smaller outfits. The first of these titles is Dreamsite Games' deck-building project Across the Obelisk. This launched into Steam Early Access back in April 2021.

Paradox Arc is being headed up by Sebastian Forsström, who has worked at the company since 2017. He joined as a product marketing manager, before rising to executive producer in 2021.

“Our goal with Paradox Arc is to surprise players with games they might not have known they needed to play,” Forsström said in a post on the company's website.

“We’re publishing the kind of games that suddenly appear atop your ‘Most Played’ list. I can say from direct experience that Across the Obelisk fits this mold perfectly and I don’t think we could have asked for a better game for our premiere. I’m looking forward to sharing more Paradox Arc titles with everyone soon - and to inviting more developers to work with us.”

In October of last year, Paradox changed its development strategy and cancelled a number of game projects.
