Facepunch Studios' survival title Rust has sold more than 12 million copies to date.

In an end-of-year update on Steam, the developer revealed that the game has sold 12,481,079 copies since its 2013 release. That's on top of the 1,11,846 Rust DLC packs that have been shifted to date.

The title has also peaked at 267,211 concurrent players in-game and has hit a high of 3,287 servers online at the same time. There's also been over 600,000 banned accounts to date.

What's more, Rust has hit a peak of 1.37 million concurrent viewers on streaming platform Twitch.

These impressive stats come in the wake of renewed popularity of Facepunch's game at the start of 2021 due to a number of popular streamers playing the title on the Offline TV server.

"2021 was an exceptional year for Rust in almost all regards, after eight years of continuous development Rust has gone from strength to strength," Facepunch wrote.

"In 2021 Rust blew up on Twitch, we saw record-high player counts, released Voice Props DLC Pack, World revamp, missions, freight trains, underwater labs, gestures, submarines, MLRS and so much more."

Facepunch's other title, Garry's Mod, has shifted more than 20 million units
