Valve says you really shouldn't open Steam Deck

PC giant Valve has posted a new video to its YouTube showing what its upcoming Steam Deck console looks like when taken apart.

In the video (below), the company says that it does not recommend opening up its new hardware as it could be broken "like profoundly."

However, Valve also understands that its PC audience is used to taking apart their tech to customise it, so gives advice on how to replace bits and pieces, including the thumbsticks and the SSD.

Valve also says that it will be selling replacement parts in the near future.

The company announced Steam Deck in July of this year with a December release date.
