Valve is selling refurbed Steam Decks

PC games giant Valve is now selling refurbished Steam Deck hardware.

In a post on its website, the company revealed that it would be making "certified refurbished" consoles available for sale.

Valve says that these Steam Decks will be factory reset and receive software updates, in addition to undergoing more than 100 tests to ensure that it is still functional. This includes checking the controller inputs, audio, screen and internal hardware are still good to go, as well as making sure the battery both works and will last.

Certified Refurbished Steam Decks also come with a one year warranty, a refurbished power supply and carrying case. All three SKUS of the hardware – 64GB, 256GB and 512GB – come with a 20 per cent discount on the RRP.

"All refurbished units meet or even exceed the performance standards of new retail units," Valve wrote.

"Although they may have minor cosmetic blemishes, they provide a reliable, high-quality gaming experience at a lower cost."
