Paul Haddad, the original voice actor for Resident Evil 2's Leon Kennedy has passed away.
Italian indie software firm Invader Studios confirmed that the voice actor had died on Twitter.
"Paul Haddad, our dear friend and an icon among the RE community, has passed away recently. We've been truly honoured to have the chance to meet and work with such a great man and a brilliant professional that He was," said Invader Studios.
"Rest in Peace Paul. You will live forever in our hearts."
Haddad was best known for his portrayal of Leon Kennedy in Capcom's first version of Resident Evil 2 in 1998. He also appeared in a variety of roles over the year, including in the 1990s X-Men animated TV show and the Free Willy series, voicing the titular whale.
Nick Apostolides, the voice actor for 2019's Leon Kennedy also took to Twitter (below) to offer a tribute to the man that originated the popular character.
The Resident Evil 2 remake was the highest-rated game on Metacritic last year. Reportedly, Resident Evil 8 is set for a 2020 release while a Resident Evil 4 remake is scheduled for 2021.
