A new report has suggested that a new entry in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series is in development.
That's according to Kotaku, which says that this new release will be "moderately-sized" on launch and will be expanded upon over time. The idea behind this is to limit the amount of crunch and pressures that developers have to endure.
This news comes almost seven years after Grand Theft Auto V. The title originally launched in September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before an improved version of the game launched on November 2014. A PC edition was finally released in April 2015.
The title was the top-selling game in the UK and the US for the last decade and has sold 115m copies between its initial release and September 2019.
Grand Theft Auto V has also been insanely profitable for publisher Rockstar and its parent company Take-Two thanks to its online mode. There were fears that we'd never see a 'traditional' Grand Theft Auto title again because of just how much money that Grand Theft Auto Online has raked in.
