PlatinumGames' Wonderful 101 Kickstarter smashes $1.5m in funding

The crowdfunding push for PlatinumGames' The Wonderful 101 Remastered has raised more than $1.5m so far.

The project has raised ¥169,020,136 ($1,538,653) at the time of writing, one week after its February 3rd launch date. The Japanese developer has started to add new stretch goals to the campaign, too. Oh, and there are still 25 days to go on the campaign, so who knows how high the Kickstarter will go.

PlatinumGames initially launched The Wonderful 101 for Nintendo's Wii U console back in 2013. The Kickstarter campaign is to bring it to new platforms, including the Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. The title smashed the $250,000 goal that was required for it to come to Steam.

There's no word on a release just yet. The project does mention that a digital version will be launching in April, but this is likely for the Switch version that was initially the focus of the push so expect the Steam edition to launch at some point after April.
