All Chromecast Ultras are now compatible with Stadia

Google Stadia can now be played on any Chromecast Ultra device.

In a Twitter update (below), It was revealed that an update has been given to all Chromecast Ultras. It allows consumers to use Chromecasts that were not received as part of the Founders package.

"If you have access to Stadia already, we have some good news to share. We have rolled out an update to existing Chromecast Ultras that allow them to work with Stadia," said the update.

"Grab your Stadia Controller, sync it to any Chromecast Ultra & start playing on an additional TV in your house."

However, the streaming platform will not work with a Chromecast that is built into a TV. When asked about it by a consumer on Twitter, Google explained that more compatible options will be added in the future.

"Hey there, thanks for your tweet. Stadia is not compatible with Chromecast built-in TVs - we're starting with Chromecast Ultra and will continue to add more compatible options in the future," said Google.

"Keep an eye on our social channels."

Consumers have previously complained that their Chromecast Ultras are overheating. This isn't the only problem Stadia users are having, Google was forced to respond to accusations of its platform not delivering 4K as promised.

The streaming platform was launched on November 19th, it had 22 games available on release day.
