Xbox boss Phil Spencer has clarified his thoughts on virtual reality after stating “nobody’s asking for VR” on Xbox.
Taking to Twitter (below), Spencer claimed to love how the industry has progressed - including its progress in the use of VR.
“Fair feedback. I've said publically, I love how our industry has pioneered: AI, physics, 3D, RT, VR/AR etc,” said Spencer
“For us, it's about focus on our innovations right now. I've played some great VR games, I got to play HL:Alyx in the summer, amazing. It's just not our focus with Scarlett.”
According to Spencer, the audience for VR is on PC - thus the plans for Xbox Scarlett do not involve the use of virtual reality.

In contrast to this, the boss of PlayStation also took to Twitter (below) claiming that the company often works on projects that nobody asks for.
Two such examples for PlayStation are its handheld hardware - PS Vita - and it’s PlayStation VR headset. The latter of which was launched three years ago.
