Grab an umbrella: Risk of Rain 2 is the No.1 storm in this week’s Steam Top Ten

Risk of Rain 2 has stepped out of Sekiro’s shadow to take the No.1 spot in this week’s Steam Top Ten.

From Software and Activision's shinobi slasher has slipped down to fourth place, leaving room at the top for games old and new to fill the gap. Japanese pre-orders for the title have also appeared in the Top Ten at No.9. This is possibly due to Asian/Japanese keys appearing on resellers sites like CD Keys and G2A.

Topping this latest Top Ten ranking is Risk of Rain 2, which has spent the last three weeks waiting in second place for a chance at the top.

The Witcher 3 returns to the chart at No.2, possibly in anticipation of the upcoming crossover event with Monster Hunter: World. If that's the case, however, then it's strange Capcom's hunting hit hasn't made an appearance on the charts this week.

Ubisoft's Anno 1800 makes landfall at No.5, if only briefly. Steam users can only pick up the game until tomorrow before sales are removed from the platform, due to “a publisher decision to make the game exclusive to another PC store”. No prizes for guessing what store that might be.

Physics-driven tactics title Totally Accurate Battle Simulator wobbles in at No.6 driven by extremely gif-able antics. Landfall likely hopes Battle Simulator can hold attention longer than the flash-in-the-pan success of last year's Totally Accurate Battlegrounds.

Deep Silver's RPG-come-survival game Outward closes out our list this week, holding steady at No.8.

Below is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending April 13th:

  1. Risk of Rain 2, Gearbox Publishing
  2. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition, CD Projekt
  3. Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, PUBG Corp
  4. Sekiro: Shadow’s Die Twice, Activision
  5. Anno 1800, Ubisoft
  6. Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, Landfall Games
  7. MISSING
  8. Outward, Deep Silver
  9. Sekiro Preorder (JP), Activision
  10. Grand Theft Auto V, Take-Two
