Assassin's Creed Odyssey peak Steam player count already 33 per cent higher than Origins'

The latest entry in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise has gotten off to a decent start with a peak concurrent player figure of over 62,000 users.

That's according to GitHyp - as reported by VG247 - and is around a third higher than the peak user figure for last year's Assassin's Creed Origins on Steam.

That title saw a 41,518 all-time peak during its launch month of October 2017. This figure doesn't take into consideration Uplay users, so it's likely the total is actually somewhat higher.

At its height, the game was the sixth highest-played title on Steam.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey was announced earlier this year having been leaked by a merchandise firm. It launched in the wake of Origins, which was followed a year break for the historical murder franchise.

The Assassin's Creed franchise is going to be taking a break in 2019, however. Odyssey is also launching on Google's Project Stream initiative for a limited number of users.
