Epic Games has refuted news that an impatient fan defecated in a bag in line to play Fortnite at Gamescom.

Last week, rumours spread online that a player in line to play Fortnite at Gamescom, reluctant to give up a place in the queue, had pooped in a bag and left it on the convention floor.

While outlandish, the news wasn’t totally unbelievable and began spreading around news sites. Eventually, Epic PR representative Nick Chester stepped in to quell the rumours in a tweet (below). Nobody actually made that kind of mess on the Koelnmesse floor.

Regardless, some attendees did report a foul smell in the area. One fan later confirmed that while nobody went so far as to shit in line, someone did drop a stink bomb and another attendee allegedly threw up.

All in all, the rumours did manage to raise a stink over the alleged obsession Fortnite fans exhibit. But while the event-exclusive spray was tempting for many, nobody was quite willing to soil themselves over it.
