Ex Valve writer Marc Laidlaw has seemingly given away what happens in the long-awaited Half Life 2: Episode 3. 

The plot was posted in the form of a letter on Laidlaw’s website written by one ‘Gertie Fremont’, with other tongue in cheek references to the Half Life universe.

The plot summary does appear to match leaked concept art from the game, meaning there might be some truth to it, but given that the last contact Laidlaw will have had with the story was over a year ago, it may well have changed somewhat.

Laidlaw joined Valve in the 90s and worked on the narratives of the first two Half Life games and their episodic content. He left the firm at the start of 2016.
