Sigurgeirsson steps down as Thunderful CEO

The CEO of European publisher Thunderful Group Brjann Sigurgeirsson has stepped down.

The former chief exec is not leaving the company, however, and will be staying on to head up the firm's Games division. Thunderful is currently looking for a replacement but in the meantime, former chief financial officer Anders Maiqvist is going to be handling this responsibility in an interim capacity. He departed the company back in January.

"I want to thank Brjann for the hard work and dedication that has led to Thunderful being a global player in the Games segment," the chair of Thunderful's board Mats Lönnqvist said.

"I am pleased that Thunderful also going forward will benefit from Brjann’s experience and network in the gaming industry. I am convinced that Thunderful with Anders Maiqvist as interim CEO, together with the rest of group management, can develop Thunderful further with an increased focus on profitability and improved cash flow."
